4Ever Trippin: A Jayco Family of Companies Pathfinder Embracing the RV Lifestyle

Tim and Lee Robinson, the dynamic duo behind 4Ever Trippin, have been embracing the RV lifestyle since August 2020. What started as a way to travel safely after the pandemic has transformed into a passion for adventure, community, and making lasting memories. With their 2022 Jayco Eagle 321RSTS as their home-on-wheels, they have explored stunning destinations across the U.S. while inspiring thousands through their YouTube channel and online community.

The Journey to RVing

Tim and Lee have always been avid travelers, having explored the U.S. by planes, trains, and cars. Their love for Texas and Colorado runs deep, and they’ve also ventured to Mexico, the Bahamas, Alaska, and Canada. However, after 2020, they wanted a way to see the world while maintaining the comforts of home—RVing was the perfect solution.

Now, as a “partially retired” couple from St. Louis, MO, they make it a priority to travel at least once a month, with their annual 10-day retreat to Wakonda State Park being a cherished tradition. Their goal was simple: immerse themselves in nature without sacrificing the comforts of home. Along the way, they found a vibrant community and a newfound sense of freedom.

Building a Community Through Travel

One of the most unexpected joys of RV life for Tim and Lee has been the friendships they’ve built. Their YouTube channel, 4Ever Trippin’, has grown to over 5,300 subscribers who eagerly follow their travels. Wanting to extend their connections beyond social media, they created the Facebook group Bi-State (MO/IL) RV & Camping Connection, a thriving community of nearly 350 like-minded campers.

With eight states checked off their U.S. map and counting, they continue to expand their horizons. Some of their favorite destinations include Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge.

A Day in the Life of 4Ever Trippin’

For Tim and Lee, an ideal travel day consists of no more than five hours on the road, great music, engaging conversations, and a pit stop at Buc-ee’s for a legendary brisket sandwich.

They always aim to arrive at their destination before dark, ensuring a stress-free setup. Travel days are about balance—Lee often squeezes in a bit of work while Tim enjoys the open road. But the real magic happens when they reach their destination, unwind, and enjoy the simple pleasures of RV life.

Weekend Warriors… with a Twist

Tim and Lee don’t consider themselves full-time RVers, but they also travel much more than your average weekend camper. They fit into a unique category—extended weekend warriors who prefer trips that last at least five days at a time.

Their future plans? Once they are both fully retired, they plan to embrace the part-time/full-time lifestyle, hitting the road for two months at a time to explore even further.

Planning the Adventures

Lee is the master planner, keeping an Excel spreadsheet filled with trip details, locations, and costs. Their entire year is meticulously planned, with sites booked in advance and travel companions lined up.

That being said, they recognize the beauty of spontaneity and always leave room for adventure. Whether it’s a planned trip or a last-minute getaway, they make the most of every experience.

Memorable (and Hilarious) Travel Moments

Like any great RVers, Tim and Lee have their share of unforgettable moments. One of the funniest? During a peaceful stay at Wakonda State Park, a sudden storm sent their Gazelle tent flying into the lake. As they frantically fished it out of the water, their friends sat cozy and dry in their Jayco, laughing at the chaotic rescue mission.

Another adventure had them racing home from New Orleans to beat a severe storm, navigating their way back to Missouri just in time. While RVing is about relaxation, sometimes it’s also about quick thinking and adaptability!

Lessons Learned & Advice for New RVers

Reflecting on their journey, Tim and Lee have learned that RV life is about more than just travel—it’s about embracing each day to the fullest. Their biggest piece of advice for newcomers? Don’t wait! Life moves fast, and RVing is the perfect way to slow down and truly live in the moment.

For those hesitant about diving into the lifestyle, they suggest renting an RV for a three-night trip. Make a campfire, talk to fellow campers, and get a feel for the experience. The friendships and memories made on the road are truly priceless.

From understanding RV-to-truck size matching to budgeting for hidden costs, they’ve picked up plenty of wisdom along the way. But if there’s one word that sums up their experience, it’s freedom—the ability to explore, relax, and create the life they’ve always dreamed of.
